Naruto, an anime that is the first anime that many people watched and got turned into weebs.
With a great set of relatable characters, life-changing dialogues, one of the best villain groups, Ninjas and their different styles of Justus, antagonists like Madara Uchiha, stellar fights, and epic music, the show undoubtedly lives to its hype and is one of the most popular animes of all time.

1-5 Lesser known Naruto Facts
1. Sasuke is the second and youngest son of Mikoto and Fugaku Uchiha. They named him after Sasuke Sarutobi in the hopes that he would someday be just as strong of a shinobi.
And ironically at one point, Sasuke became a terrorist to the shinobi world, justifying the name they have given to him :>
2. Your favorite ninja, Naruto wasn’t always going to be a ninja. At first, the creator intended him to use a form of magic instead of ninjutsu, but he decided this was too confusing and dropped the idea.
3. At one point, Naruto anime was almost canceled because a certain organization was not happy with the high amount of deaths. And they issued a complaint requesting one of the sponsors of the show to pull their funding. But when sponsors saw the ratings of the show, they have decided to continue the show.
4. Despite the show having a high death count, Naruto canonically killed only one person. And the person he killed was Sand Village Jonin, Yura.
5. Shikamaru Nara’s IQ is over 200, making him one of the smartest characters in Naruto.

6. In the Japanese version, Naruto’s catchphrase is dattebayo, and technically it has no translatable meaning in English.
So in the English dub of the anime, He uses “Believe it” as a catchphrase.
7. But what’s more surprising is, In the early drafts of Naruto, Even Kakashi had his trademark speech pattern. He would end his sentences with de gozaru just like Himura Kenshin from Ruroni Kenshin.
8. The protective headbands that are worn in the series actually came into existence because it took Kishimoto Sensei too long to draw the reflection of the goggle worn by Naruto. So instead he replaced Naruto’s goggle’s with protective headband.
9. Everyone who watched Naruto knows the name of Naruto’s favorite ramen shop.
And guess what? You can actually eat in Ichiraku Ramen, as it exists in real life. The real-life Ichiraku Ramen is located near the Kyushu Sangyo University that Masashi Kishimoto, the creator of Naruto, attended.
10. If you pay close attention to the first chapter of the Naruto manga, Choji’s father can be seen as part of the group that wanted to kill Naruto.
Just try to imagine how sad Choji would be if he had known that his father was a part of the group that wanted to kill his close friend, Naruto. And knowing Choji, he would have eaten all his food as part of revenge.
11-15 Lesser known Naruto Facts
11. Many of Kakuzu’s techniques are named after Mecha from the first Gundam series, As it is a series that Kishimoto watched as a child.
12. And if you ever feel life isn’t fair, then try to remember the fact that Kakuzu got punished for failing his mission to kill Hashirama Senju, the God of Shinobi.
Seriously, all I want to know now is what village elders were on while thinking Kakuzu could kill Hashirama when even Madara Uchiha couldn’t kill.
13. It’s hard to call our badass-pervy cook, Sanji from the ever-popular One Piece, as anything other than Sanji. However, Eiichiro Oda, the creator of One Piece, almost named Sanji “Naruto” because of his eyebrows resembling Naruto fishcake 🍥.
But with the series Naruto being released around the same time, Oda Sensei decided to change the name to Sanji, So that there wouldn’t be any confusion among the readers.

14. As matter of fact, Even Masashi Kishimoto came up with Naruto’s name while eating Ramen. Naruto is short for Naruto Maki, a type of kamaboko with a pink spiral in the middle and is often used as a topping for ramen.
15. Rock Lee and Might Guy are based on legendary actor, Bruce Lee. Moreover, Rock Lee even shares the same birthday with Bruce Lee, which is on 27th November.

16. Masashi Kishimoto is a fan of the film, The Matrix. And he drew inspiration from the lead character NEO when creating Gaara
17. According to the Naruto databook, Sasuke’s hobbies are training and taking walks.
18. Whereas his older brother, Itachi’s hobby is trying out traditional Japanese cafes.
19. With over 250 million copies in circulation, Naruto is the 4rth best selling manga of all time. It is only behind One Piece, Golgo 13, and Dragon Ball.
20. When creating Naruto, Kishimoto incorporated several features that he felt would make an ideal hero.
He made Naruto with a straightforward way of thing, a mischievous side, and many of the qualities possessed by Son Goku from Dragon Ball. Since Kishimoto doesn’t like smart characters, he made Naruto simple, and stupid.

21. Boruto and Himawari were both meant to have Byakugan. But when chapter 700 came out, Kishimoto forgot to draw them with it. Despite that, Himawari has developed Byakugan. And it was a blessing in disguise for Boruto cause he got Jougan as a result.
22. Naruto is Not the Last Member of Uzumaki Clan. Lady Tsunade, Karin and Nagato were all descendants of the Uzumaki Clan.
23. Kishimoto originally planned the 3rd hidden leaf’s Hokage character design to be a dog, But later scrapped this idea for being too weird.
24. Kishimoto has admitted that he planted false leads on numerous occasions to tease fans of certain relationships in the series to toy with readers.

25. Although Sakura is the main heroine of the series, Kishimoto did not originally intend her to be the heroine of the series.

26. Rock Lee and Might Guy are the favorite Naruto characters of One Piece’s creator, Eiichiro Oda.
27. As of 2021, Kishimoto’s net worth is approximately over US$20 million.
28. Without Akira movie, we may not have gotten Naruto. During middle school, Kishimoto was losing interest in drawing and focused on sports instead. But after seeing one of the Akira movie posters, his passion was reignited, and he went straight back to the drawing board.
29. Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi, and Gaara are only four characters that have always been in the Top 10 on the list of Naruto Character Popularity Polls.
30. Kakashi has accumulated 48,469 votes throughout the 7 Naruto Character Popularity Polls, making him the most popular character from Naruto.

31. The Hidden leaf village is modeled after Kishimoto’s hometown.
32. Ironically, Kisame’s least favorite is shark fin soup.
33. Firstly, A lot of anime staff were fans of Hinata Hyuga, and the reason for her being in the Naruto ending “Jitensha” is all thanks to them.
34. Secondly, Team Kurenai, also known as Team 8 didn’t appear much in the manga as compared to anime. This is also due to the high amount of Hinata fans in anime staff.
35. Additionally, Even Kishimoto Sensei has also revealed Hinata Hyuga as his favorite female character.
36-40 Lesser known Naruto Facts
36. The actual mark on Neji’s forehead highly resembles Swastika. This was changed in the anime and some of the printed manga because they thought it resembled Nazis too much.
37. Itachi is tied with Jiraiya for having the highest stat total in the databook.
38. Kishimoto had trouble writing Killer Bee’s lines because he always wanted them to rhyme due to his rapping style.
39. If a Sharingan user and a Byakugan user give birth to a child, then the child would have one Sharingan and one Byakugan.
40. Kiba shares the same birthday with Akamaru, which is on July 7th.

41. Kakashi means Scarecrow.
42. The legendary Sannin, Tsunade, Jiraya, and Orochimaru were taken from the Japanese folk tale, Jiraiya Gōketsu Monogatari.
43. As a child, Kishimoto was unable to afford issues of Weekly Shonen Jump, so he borrowed the magazine from his friends. And now he’s the creator of one of the most popular series of all time, and they’re paying him.

46. Kishimoto hails from Okayama, a town near Hiroshima. And his grandparent’s wartime stories influenced his portrayal of war in Naruto.
47. The Naruto franchise has grossed over $10 billion since its creation
48. Everyone’s favorite, Kakashi was the creator Masashi Kishimoto’s first choice for a potential solo series.
49. To bid farewell to his friend and rival, Kishimoto’s Naruto, Oda has drawn Naruto in One Piece manga.
On the cover page of the One Piece manga 766th chapter, the person behind Nami is Naruto himself. He’s wearing a Chang Pao with the Konoha symbol on it and is eating Luffy’s favorite food. And Luffy is eating Naruto’s food favorite food.
50. To return the favor, In the 700th chapter of Naruto manga, Kishimoto drew the symbol of Straw Hat pirates appears on the forehead protector of Naruto’s statue as a part of Boruto’s graffiti.
